WBSM Beloved Acushnet Caller ‘Stormin” Norman Fredette Passes Away
ACUSHNET (WBSM) — Beloved WBSM caller “Stormin’ Norman” Fredette has passed away.
Fredette, an Acushnet resident, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital on Thursday, May 9. He was 64 years old.
Fredette was a frequent caller to WBSM and part of the “Kitchen Cabinet” segment on The Phil Paleologos Show. He would address the “Morning Mayor” as “Your Honor,” and could usually be heard with some of his construction equipment running in the background.
He was born in New Bedford and was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational.
Fredette was the owner and construction supervisor of Norman’s Enterprises Construction Company in Acushnet, which according to his obituary was a business he started when he was just 17 years old.
According to his obit, Fredette is survived by his wife Maria, daughters Cristina Fredette and Sara Fredette, goddaughter Nicole West and many cousins.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Boulevard Funeral Home in New Bedford. His funeral mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier in Acushnet on Monday, May 20 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
