Just like other kids his age, my youngest brother Nicholas is a sponge. He observes everything going on around him and retains the information for later use. He cracks us up with the things he comes up with sometimes. I shared my favorite example on air this morning.

He must have only been about 5 at the time, and my mom was rushing to get the kids ready for school. The last thing she needed was the little guy grabbing at her pant legs, screaming "mom" over and over again. After a few minutes she finally had it and said, "Give me a second." Well he didn't miss a beat when the next thing we heard was, "I need to get my story straight, my friends are in the bathroom getting higher than the empire state."

We couldn't believe it. The kid was singing FUN's "We Are Young" like he was Nate Ruess himself! Needless to say, we were incredibly impressed that he not only associated the line with that song, but that he knew all the words! (Mom had a chat with the older kids about appropriate music choices at dinner later that day).

This sparked a great segment with Phil this morning where parents and grandparents shared their own experiences. We appreciate every listener who called in to make the show so wonderful. It was great to hear your memories on air.
