KG Urban Proposes June 23rd As Date For Casino Referendum
New Bedford is one step closer to a referendum on the Host City Agreement that would establish a waterfront casino in the city.
Developer KG Urban Enterprises is recommending a date of June 23rd for that city-wide vote. The proposal is being forwarded to the City Council.
In a statement Thursday, Mayor Jon Mitchell says he's looking forward to working with the Council to act on the request.
Mitchell says he wants to make sure voters have all the information they need to make an informed judgement on the issue.
