PEMBROKE — The Republican candidate to represent the 9th Congressional District of Massachusetts, vows to be an advocate on behalf of Southeastern Massachusetts’ fishing industry, if elected.

Peter Tedeschi said in a release, "The health of this industry impacts countless ancillary businesses, and the wellbeing of families behind these businesses should be a top priority for the Congressman from this district. “The industry, and the region, need an advocate. Congressman Keating is simply not doing enough.”

Tedeschi also said that In July, Congressman Keating voted against the most recent reauthorization of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, a bill which would benefit the commercial fishing industry in Southeastern Massachusetts through common sense reforms. Tedeschi says he would have voted in favor of the bill.
