The Justice Department is monitoring elections in 18 states today.

Attorney General Eric Holder says federal officials will check on whether voters are treated differently based on race, color or disability and whether polling places are providing bilingual election materials as required by law.

Justice Department monitors will be on the ground in 28 jurisdictions, including Chicago, Milwaukee, four counties in Florida, three in Ohio and two in California, Georgia, Nebraska, South Dakota and Texas.

They'll also be monitoring elections in Bergen County, New Jersey and Orange County, New York.
