An acoustic guitar used by John Lennon to compose some of The Beatles' biggest hits is hitting the auction block.

Julien's Auctions believes the 1962 Gibson guitar will fetch up to 800-thousand dollars when it goes up for auction in November.

Lennon was said to have used the guitar when he was putting together such songs as "I Want to Hold Your Hand," and "All My Loving."

It went missing at a concert in December of 1963, but turned up at a San Diego home recently and was authenticated by auction experts.  (Metro Networks Inc.)
