Former State Representative and Dartmouth Select Board member John George will be in Federal Court in Boston Wednesday afternoon for sentencing.

The 68 year old George was found guilty in April of embezzling federal funds from Union Street  Bus Company, a firm that he owned, and using that money to benefit his personal farm in Dartmouth.

The jury said George was guilty of using bus company employees to do work at the farm, and also inflating his final year's salary from $75,000 to $275,000 to boost his pension.

He could face up to ten years in prison and a fine of $250,000, however actual sentences for federal crimes are very often less than the maximum.  The sentencing hearing is set for 3pm Wednesday with judge Denise Casper presiding.
