John George Sentenced To Nearly 6 Years In Prison

Former Sate Representative and Dartmouth Select Board member John George has been sentenced to 70 months in federal prison, after being found guilty last April of embezzling federal funds from his subsidized bus company. The story was first reported by Southcost Today.com.

Federal Court Judge Denise Casper also sentenced George to three years of supervised release after his sentence is complete, and ordered restitution of $688,000.

A hearing on a $1.3 million forfieture of property will be heard next month.

George will report to Federal authorities for his sentencie on September 23.
