Fall River Elderly Dog Hopes to Live Out Life at a Loving Forever Home [WET NOSE WEDNESDAY]
Happy Wet Nose Wednesday! It's our favorite day of the week.
Hundreds of animals on the SouthCoast are waiting for a place to call home, and thanks to the help of local shelters, we share their stories. This week, we head to Fall River where a senior dog is hoping to find the perfect family.
Meet Churro the Chihuahua. He is 11 years young and he's looking for a companion (or several) with whom he can live out his golden years.
"This sweet old man is in need of a good brushing and a nail trim but he's a cautious, jumpy guy so we're working up to it," Forever Paws Animal Shelter said. "He doesn't mind us touching his feet but he does flinch with fast movements or loud sounds so we're taking our time letting him adjust."
Churro is a little shy but doesn't seem to mind strangers. He is excellent on a leash, loves to sit in your lap and loves to be snuggled. He's not a big fan of being held, but with a little time, he'll warm up to it.
Churro would be OK with cats and with dogs of a similar temperament.
"Nothing too young, bouncy or loud, though, because that would terrify him," the shelter said. Children 12 and older are recommended.
Churro is a sweet, friendly older guy that just wants to live out the rest of his life in the comfort of a loving home.
