In an outrageous story that's receiving national attention, a 9-year-old North Carolina boy was told by his school to leave his "My Little Pony" backpack at home because it was a "trigger" for bullying!

The Huffington Post reports that other students are physically attacking Grayson Bruce because they think his backpack is "girly." His mother, Noreen Bruce, confirmed her son has been pushed down, punched and called horrible names over the blue pony backpack with ears.

Buncombe County School officials demanded the 9-year-old student to leave the backpack at home so this doesn't continue to be a disruption in the classroom. A Change.org petition is asking that the boy be allowed to bring his backpack to school.
