Iran is looking at the possibility of resuming direct flights between Tehran and the U.S. for the first time in more than three decades. 

Iranian media says the issue is being discussed to resolve transportation problems of Iranians residing in the U.S. 

The U.S. and Iran cut off diplomatic relations in 1980 after U.S. Embassy officials were taken hostage following the Islamic Revolution.
