The Russians are coming, the Russians are coming! And they are bringing a whole lot of stuff with them to help the United States to battle the "invisible enemy," COVID-19.

President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the coronavirus outbreak that is ravaging the world in a phone call on Monday, and by Wednesday morning it is reported that a planeload of medical supplies is on its way to the States to help battle the virus.

According to media reports on both sides of the planet, Trump and Putin agreed to a reciprocal arrangement so that should Russia face an outbreak later this year as severe as what is anticipated here in the coming weeks, the U.S. would return the favor. The art of the deal.

It is also reported that China is sending help in the form of medical supplies.

Trump has always maintained that it is better to have good relations with our adversaries than strained relations, and here is a perfect example of why the Trump doctrine is so important. While the Democrats continue to vilify the Russians, Trump is working with them to save American lives. Now that is leadership.

The Americans and the Russians and the Chinese will always have very different perspectives on the world but must be mutually supportive in times of crisis. If these arch-rivals can come together cooperatively to defeat a common health threat, just imagine what else might be possible when all of this is said and done.
