Tom Brady chose a very interesting time to break the news to his fans that he would be leaving the New England Patriots and that his football journey will take place elsewhere. On St. Patrick's Day, Tuesday, March 17, Brady announced that "it is time for [him] to open a new stage for [his] life and career." While the people of Massachusetts were just trying to navigate the novel coronavirus, we didn't realize there'd be a new disaster to deal with.

Coach Belichick responded to the news, explaining that his appreciation for TB12 has never faltered. "Sometimes in life, it takes some time to pass before truly appreciating something or someone but that has not been the case with Tom. He is a special person and the greatest quarterback of all-time.

As if that doesn't get you a little misty-eyed, Edelman goes and posts this tribute to the GOAT on Twitter:

Which brings us to the most relatable response to all of this news. Innocent children are crying over the loss of this beloved icon. I'm not even sure if this little guy knows what he's so upset about but I get it, kid.

Wareham native Anthony Leavitt posted this video of his little ones reacting to Julian Edelman's video. "Tom Brady look what you're doing to my babies! You can’t leave! We love you man! #Patsnation #GOAT"

Honestly, I could probably post the same video of my fiancé, but he'd probably threaten to take the ring back. At least Brady has six.
