If you find yourself floating down the Westport River without your favorite summer treat, don't worry – help is on the way.

A mobile ice cream boat just hit the water under the name "Tweet's Treats." Matt Tweedie, a Dartmouth High School teacher, is the mastermind behind this.

Picture it: you're out on the river, enjoying a relaxing day. You brought lots of snacks and drinks but you either forgot to bring ice cream, or just didn't know how you could keep it frozen. Problem solved with Tweet's Treats!

It will bring frozen delights to Boat Beach, Ship Rock Sand Bar, and even to your mooring or slip. Talk about service. Plus, the ice cream selection is some of the classics we all grew up with.

Since cell service may not be the best (if you have any at all), you can reach Tweet's Treats via marine communication radio or VHF Channel 72.

I asked Tweedie what made him decide to start this ice cream boat.

"I am a high school teacher at Dartmouth High School during the year and decided to do this to spend some time on the water, enjoy the sun, and make people smile with ice cream," he said. "I mean, you can’t be in a bad mood and eat ice cream."

He's not wrong.

Heads up, you can pay using cash or card via Square.

Personally, I can't help but think, why hasn't anyone done this sooner? Now I just need to find a friend that owns a boat. Anyone?
