Hundreds of Fentanyl Pills Seized in Fall River Drug Bust

FALL RIVER — Fall River police and federal agents seized hundreds of fentanyl pills and nearly $65,000 in cash in a drug bust yesterday that saw a 61-year-old city resident taken into custody.
Police said city detectives and agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency searched a vehicle, apartment, and storage unit belonging to Jesus Manual Sanchez Rosario on Monday.
Sanchez Rosario lives on Canal Street, and the storage unit in question was located on Father DeValles Boulevard.
According to police, investigators saw Sanchez Rosario allegedly distributing illegal drugs before the search.
A stun gun was also found during the bust, in which police said they seized over 652 grams of fentanyl pills and $64,966 in cash thought to be proceeds from drug sales.
Authorities also found 3.6 grams of suspected crack cocaine, according to police.
Sanchez Rosario was arrested and charged with distributing a class A drug, trafficking in 200 or more grams of opiates, possessing a class B drug, and multiple illegal firearms offenses.
