For Dartmouth resident and veteran Bill Cook, the day before Veterans Day was one he won't soon forget.

Cook had his right leg severed while serving with the Coast Guard in the 1970's. He's been caulking the roof on his Dartmouth home because he couldn't afford a complete replacement.

The volunteer group, Dog Tag Navigators heard about the need and referred the project to Home Depot.  On Monday about 60 Home Depot employees replaced Cook's roof and did some landscaping in his yard, free of charge.  The homeowner's reaction....

Each year, Home Depot does a series of home improvement projects around the country as part of its "Celebration of Service" program, helping veterans and active service members and their families.
