"You put your left leg in. You take your left leg out. You put your left leg in and you shake it all about. You do the Hokey Pokey and you turn yourself around. That's what it's all about!"

Seems former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick is thinking about shaking things up by thinking about running for president. Again. Some guys like Michael Bloomberg just like reading about themselves in the press but never really intend to pull the trigger. Hokey Pokey Patrick is one of those guys.

The last time Hokey Pokey Patrick toyed with our emotions this way was last December, when he had to talk himself down from the ledge.

"I've been overwhelmed by advice and encouragement from people from all over the country, known and unknown. Humbled, in fact. But knowing that the cruelty of our elections process would ultimately splash back on people whom Diane and I love, but who hadn’t signed up for the journey, was more than I could ask," he said at the time.

What a swell guy.

And that wasn't his first foray at the edge of the ring with hat in hand. It must be humbling to be so in demand.

Deval Patrick was a miserable governor. The people of southeastern Massachusetts should never forget how Hokey Pokey Patrick screwed them out of a casino and lied through his teeth about his commitment to commuter rail.

We also need to remember the corruption, the curtains, the dead kids. Don't forget the Department of Children and Families was in "crisis" in 2015, Patrick's last year in office, according to DCF Commissioner Linda Spears.

And then there were the taxes. Remember it was Hokey Pokey Patrick who wanted higher gas taxes and tried to impose taxes on sugary drinks and candy.

Yeah, ol' Hokey Pokey Patrick talks over and over about how he'd love to run for president and how so many people have begged him to do so. How humbling. Ah, but alas, he breaks our hearts again. Deval Patrick needs to stop teasing us and decide once and for all if he's got what it takes to step up to the plate.

"You put your whole self in. You take your whole self out. You put your whole self in and you shake it all about. You do the Hokey Pokey and you turn your self around. That's what it's all about."

Or you just shut up and go away.
