On Sunday, May 18, the nation's longest running (no-pun intended) women only 5K road race will celebrate its 35th year. As in past years, the event will support The Women's Center, serving communities from Wareham to Swansea. Dawn Nunes, President of the Greater New Bedford Track Club, says the race steps off from Hazelwood Park and starts at 10 a.m.

The Hazelwood Women's 5K is a celebration of women and their participation in running! The Greater New Bedford Track Club encourages women and girls of all ages to run or walk in this year's race.

The course is fast and flat and takes the athlete through scenic New Bedford's Waterfront. The race begins and ends at Hazelwood Park in New Bedford's south end. For a map of the course and other running and registration information click on: http://www.rungnbtc.com/Hazelwood_Womens_5k.html
