Five democratic candidates looking to win a seat in the state's corner office answered questions about SouthCoast Saturday afternoon.

One question asked during the forum at the Zeiterion Theater was about what to do about crime.

Candidate Julliette Kayyem says the first step in criminal justice reform is cutting corrections costs.

Candidate Donald Berwick says change must begin by looking at addiction as a health issue rather than a criminal issue.

The forum also included candidates Attorney General Martha Coakley, State Treasurer Steven Grossman, and Joe Avellone.

The candidates will be competing for place on the primary ballot which will be decided at the Democratic Convention on June 14.
