Great White Shark Spotted Near Wellfleet

Officials in Wellfleet are saying a 12-foot great white shark was spotted within six feet of a local beach. 

The shark was reportedly seen Sunday evening by a police officer who's an experienced deep-sea fisherman.  Authorities said it was the town's first confirmed shark sighting of the summer. They weren't able to confirm just how far offshore the shark was seen.

The town has told it's beach goers that they are swimming at their own risk.  Wildlife officials confirmed that it was a Great White.
