Entrepreneurs listen up. If you'd like to have some fun and win a grand, apply for the upcoming "Pitch Contest." EforAll - Entrepreneurship for All, is a local organization, now in New Bedford and Fall River, has a simple mission: to help accelerate economic and social impact through entrepreneurship in mid-sized cities in the Commonwealth. Recently, I spoke with EforAll Executive Director, Shelley Cardoos, who told me the organization has programs that will run workshops, including a 12 week mentorship with experts who will help business owners in the beginning stages.

Their first event is a Pitch Contest, Friday, October 23 at 5 pm. They are partnering with the Connecting for Change Conference at the Zeiterion Theatre. It's free and open to the public, but their attendees can register for the conference, Friday and Saturday, at a discounted rate.

If you'd like to apply for the pitch contest, go to eforall.org by October 9th. If chosen, 20 entrepreneurs will have tables to display their ideas and speak with the public. 7 will be chosen to present a 2.5 minute "pitch" on stage and 1 wild card will be chosen from other entrepreneurs at the tables or from the audience. The prizes are $1000 for first place, $750 for second place, $500 for third place, $500 for Fan Favorite, where the audience will text their favorite pitch. Entrepreneurs don't have to be only from New Bedford or Fall River, but should be in the beginning stages of their business. EforAll is located at 1213 Purchase St. in New Bedford.
