Members of Congress have been hiding out in their districts since the start of this coronavirus crisis, too afraid to return to the office to do what they were elected to do: lead this country.

Get back to work, you hacks!

President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence have been in the office every day since all of this began and work from sunup until way past sundown, all the while taking a relentless thrashing from the media and their political opponents. Trump and the members of his Coronavirus Task Force, as well as other dedicated members of the administration, have established an amazing public/private approach to combating this virus while at the same time fending off sniping from the peanut gallery.

Members of the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives were scheduled to return to Washington on Monday but Majority Leader Steny Hoyer says they won't be back until it is safer. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell plans to have his members back in session next week.

Trump projects an image of leadership by conducting business as usual from the White House while members of Congress hide in their basements and snipe at Trump through internet hookups with the cable news networks. They appear weak.

Members of Congress need to get out of the basements, get back to Washington, and do the nation's business. The country is on its knees, the economy is in shambles and still, members of Congress refuse to do their jobs.

Get back to work, you hacks!
