New Bedford Portuguese Stuffing ‘Thanksgiving Waffle’ Is Leftovers Heaven
On this episode of "TikTok Made Me Do It," I will take you down a delicious road to leftovers heaven.
Now that Thanksgiving 2023 has come and gone, my fridge is still bulging with Turkey Day leftovers. The wife and I were fortunate enough to bring home a giant container of turkey with all the fixings, especially my wife's Portuguese stuffing.
I've always said: If the stuffing isn't Portuguese-style, I'm not interested.
About a week before Thanksgiving, my wife sent me a TikTok with a great idea to spruce up the leftovers with a waffle iron. The idea is to heat the stuffing in the waffle iron like so:
I will tell you that after I added the turkey, mashed potatoes and the little amount of gravy we were able to salvage, the Thanksgiving Waffle came together nicely. My only regret is not having cranberry sauce to pull the flavors together, but the meal was still divine.
I will never eat leftovers the same after this odd concoction, and if you just so happen to have any leftover rice laying around, you can do the same thing with the waffle iron.
Trust me: If you have a waffle iron in your house, you have to give this a try. You'll thank me later.
