Fall River Police arrested a wanted fugitive Thursday afternoon.

Lt. Paul Santos says that the Department's Emergency Services Unit executed a search warrant at around 1:10 p.m. at a dwelling house where they found 36-year-old Pedro Torres hiding in a closet.

He was arrested without incident on a warrant from Puerto Rico.

Santos says officers observed drug paraphanelia in plain view as they were clearing the apartment and they applied for an additional search warrant which was granted.

After obtaining the search warrant officers found a locked box which contained a Taurus .40SW Caliber-Model PT140 w/no round in chamber-10 rounds in loaded magazine and a Smith & Wesson .45 Caliber-Model 457 w/no round in chamber- 7 rounds in loaded magazine.

In addition officers found a box of Federal .357 magnum rounds, with nine rounds inside and other items associated with the distribution of drugs, including a small bag of marijuana, $265 in cash, and two Massachusetts license plates.

The Associated Press says that Torres is wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of three people in August 2014.
