Freetown Police have charged two Fall River men with assault and impersonating a police officer.

Late Thursday afternoon, two motorists became involved in an altercation on South Main St. in Freetown.  Two men in a cadillac said they were off-duty Fall River Police officers, and threatened to pistol-whip a Freetown man. The Cadillac then left the scene, and the Freetown man called police and provided them with a description of the car.

Berkley Police Chief Scott Labonte spotted the Cadillac and followed it through Lakeville and into a parking lot at Middleboro High School.  He was joined there by officers from Middleboro and Freetown.

Two occupants, 19 year old Mackenzie Silvia and 22 year old Nicholas Silvia, both of Fall River were placed under arrest.  A search of the Cadillac uncovered a Glock handgun, a billy club, and a constable police badge.  Police also seized a siren and blue stobe light system.
