Free, Two-Hour Parking During Holiday Season

The City of New Bedford is again offering two hours of free parking at metered spaces in the city's business districts.

The free parking is being offered in Downtown New Bedford, the North End Business District, and in the Elm Street and Zeiterion garages. The free parking provision will run through Friday, January 1st.

If you exceed the two hour limit and get a ticket, you can mail the ticket to the New Bedford Traffic Division along with a sales receipt for at least $10, and the ticket will be forgiven.

Mayor Jon Mitchell says the city is pleased to again offer free parking to encourage area residents to shop local.
