The New England Fisheries Management Council has delayed a vote on reducing the catch limits for groundfish like cod and haddock in New England.  The cuts were estimated at anywhere from 40 to 90%.  The Council however decided Thursday to put off a vote till its January meeting.  New Bedford seafood consultant Jim Kendall attended the meeting in Wakefield, and was okay with the delay....

Speculating on why the vote was delayed, Kendall says perhaps the council members are waiting for more scientific information.  He adds,  the meeting was attended by 150 angry fishermen, so that may have moved the council to take a "go slow" approach.
