Female Football Fans Will Finally Have Their Own Movie

It seems like a film that is long overdue, but what may be the first female football fan movie could be coming to a screen near you.

Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Judd Apatow and Laura Dern are pairing up to produce a movie about “the world of obsessive female football fans.”

As an "obsessive female football" fan myself, I am definitely looking forward to this one! I can be found each and every Sunday of football season on the couch watching as many games as I can. Not to mention Thursday and Monday nights and the several fantasy football leagues I play in every year. I think this new movie will really speak to me.

Apparently Dern came up with the concept (which kind of surprised me) and Pam Brady, who has worked with Trey Parker and Matt Stone of South Park, is going to be screenwriting.

Dern and Apatow will also produce the pic that doesn't have a cast in place just yet. The EW article says the plan is to make this movie an ensemble piece, so think Bridesmaids with football.

There's plenty of funny ladies out there that I think would be great in a movie like this. So who do you think would be perfect for this female football film?
