Federal charges against marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev could come as early as today.

The lone surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing is reportedly awake and responding in writing to questions. A law enforcement official said he remains under heavy guard at a local hospital.

Federal investigators have been waiting to question Tsarnaev, and there has been speculation that his neck wound was self-inflicted.
