A Fairhaven woman is scheduled to go on trial Tuesday in Fall River for the 2011 hit and run death of a 29 year old disabled woman.

Thirty-seven year old Renee Andrews is charged with motor vehicle homocide, leaving the scene and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Katelyn Brienzo was struck and killed while attempting to cross Sconticut Neck Road in Fairhaven around 5:30pm on November 8, 2011. Her boyfriend, Ellery Reynolds of New Bedford was also hurt, suffering a serious head injury.

Brienzo was a client of Mo Life in Fairhaven. She held a full time job at Market Basket, and traveled the country speaking in support of employment opportunities for the disabled.

If convicted of motor vehicle homocide, Renee Andrews could face up to 2 1/2 years in the House of Correction.
