Fatal Crash on Route 24 in Freetown Thursday Is Third This Month
FREETOWN — A fatal crash in Freetown last night marks the third such crash on that stretch of Route 24 in the past 13 days.
At approximately 8:40 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Dartmouth barracks responded to multiple reports of a crash on Route 24 Northbound just south of Exit 10 in Freetown.
Upon arrival, troopers discovered three vehicles involved with multiple injuries, one of which was life-threatening. Freetown Fire and EMS responded to the scene and quickly determined the person to be deceased.
State Police say the crash remains in the preliminary phase of investigation and that no other information is available at this time. Troopers were assisted on scene by MassDOT, the Bristol County State Police Detective Unit, the Crime Scene Services Section, and the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section.
Back on November 3, Joshua Golbranson, 34, of Wareham was killed in a single-vehicle rollover on Route 24 South in Freetown, and on Nov. 5, 49-year-old David Goncalo of Fall River was killed in single-vehicle crash on Route 24 Northbound, just north of exit 10.
