Fall River Rotary Bringing Back Bingo Bash
It turns out bingo isn’t just for quiet church halls anymore.
The Rotary Club of Fall River is bringing back its high-energy Bingo Bash on Friday, March 27, and if you think this is your average grandma’s bingo night, think again. Take everything you know about classic bingo and spice it up with music, prizes, dancing and a whole lot of laughs.
I caught up with Rotary Club member and former club president Jenny Mello Reis, who said the night has become one of the organization’s most popular fundraisers. Best of all, it all goes back into the community.
Bingo With Bigger Prizes Every Round
The Bingo Bash will take place at White’s of Westport, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and games starting at 7 p.m.
Players will compete in 15 total games, broken up into five rounds of three games each. As the night goes on, the prizes keep getting bigger.
The first game in each round will feature themed prize baskets such as wine or booze baskets. The second game will award gift cards, and the third game in each round is where the big excitement kicks in with cash prizes.
The cash starts at $100 and climbs each round, eventually leading up to a $500 grand prize in the final game of the night.
More Than Just Bingo
Your $50 ticket includes admission to all 15 games plus a complimentary glass of wine or beer. A bar will also be available throughout the night, and food will be available for purchase.
There will also be a 50/50 raffle and other prize opportunities sprinkled throughout the evening.

According to Reis, the real magic happens in between games.
“When people are dancing and having fun, we’ll randomly hand out gift cards and extra prizes,” she said. "It turns into a really fun night out. People are dancing on tables and chairs and just having a great time.”
A Night That Gives Back to the Community
While the Bingo Bash is all about having fun, it also serves a much bigger purpose. All proceeds from the event go directly back into the greater Fall River community.
The Rotary Club of Fall River awards over $15,000 in scholarships to local high school seniors, distributes sneakers and socks to elementary students in need, and provides essentials to people experiencing homelessness through programs like Blessing Bags.
The club also distributes about $20,000 annually to local nonprofits through its Awards and Allocations program.
“It’s really about helping everyone in our community,” Reis said. “All walks of life, all different groups. That’s what Rotary is all about.”

Tickets Still Available
This will be the third year the Rotary Club of Fall River has hosted the Bingo Bash, and tickets are already moving quickly.
Reis said about 100 tickets remain, so anyone interested should grab them soon while they last, because this might just be the most fun you’ll ever have yelling “BINGO!”
