FALL RIVER (WBSM) — A student at a Fall River school was found in possession of an unspent bullet this morning.

According to Fall River Police, “one unspent bullet was discovered in a student’s possession while they were entering Resiliency Preparatory Academy.” The 17-year-old student had the bullet in their bag, which police said “never got past the entry security checkpoint.”

The school uses Evolv weapon detection screening devices at the school’s entry point, police said.

“All students, staff, and their personal belongings pass through these devices at a designated security checkpoint before gaining access to the building,” according to police.

“A thorough search of the student and the exterior of the school was conducted,” police said. “No further items of concern were found.”
