If you thought Labubu fever had officially peaked, think again. A group of SouthCoast creatives just took the viral collectible to a level no one saw coming.

This week on Fun 107’s MGM Show, listeners were introduced to what may very well be the most expensive Labubu in the world. Believe it or not, it was created in Fall River.

We’re talking diamonds. Thousands of them. Italian leather. Custom jewelry. A private-jet-level duffel bag. And yes, pink toenails.

A Christmas Idea That Snowballed Fast

The mastermind behind it all is Greg Molinar. With Christmas approaching, he wanted to do something fun, generous, and wildly over the top.

The idea: take the world’s most hyped collectible toy and turn it into a luxury art piece using only local talent.

That’s when the dream team came together.

The Craftsmanship Behind the Sparkle

To make this Labubu truly one-of-a-kind, Molinar enlisted two masters of their trades.

Matt Nasr of Matt Nasr Jewelers brought the bling. The Labubu is encrusted with nearly 2,000 diamonds, all VVS clarity, D-color stones, which are about as elite as diamonds get. Instead of ultra-rare pink diamonds, Nasr opted for rich pink tourmaline stones for the eyes and toes, giving the piece that vibrant, unmistakable pop.

Even better is that the Labubu has a removable diamond necklace that can actually be worn.

Then there’s Ian Clegg of Frank Clegg Leatherworks, whose Fall River-based company is known worldwide for luxury leather goods, including custom duffel bags placed inside every new Gulfstream private jet.

For this project, Clegg created a custom pink leather duffel bag, complete with a red interior, just for Labubu. The leather had to be specially sourced from Italy, got held up in customs for weeks, and still made it just in time. Finally, Mekenzie Barbosa came in clutch, putting the Labubu back together and sewing on the face and ears for the final product reveal.

Worth it? Absolutely.

Enter the Perfect Owner

Of course, every luxury item needs the right owner. This one landed with Brianna LaTorre, better known online as "The Lip Bunny."

A Fall River native and full-blown Labubu superfan (she even dressed as one for Halloween), LaTorre was gifted the finished piece.

Her reaction: total blackout.

She knew a bag was on the way. She did not expect to open it and find a diamond-covered Labubu holding a lip-filler syringe, wearing a necklace with her logo on it, lounging inside a luxury duffel.

She’s already planning a full photo shoot and YouTube reveal — because how could you not?

So How Much Is It Worth?

When pressed for a number, Nasr didn’t hesitate: six figures. Yes, a six-figure Labubu.

The project took two to three months, including carefully deconstructing an original Labubu just to learn how it’s sewn and assembled before rebuilding it from the inside out.

As far as anyone involved knows, nothing like this has ever been done before.

A Wild Idea Made Local

What started as a lighthearted Christmas idea turned into a jaw-dropping showcase of SouthCoast craftsmanship and collaboration.

From Fall River jewelers to world-class leather artisans, this Labubu proves that sometimes the most outrageous ideas turn into something unforgettable.

How to Spot a Fake Labubu

If you’re planning to pick up a Labubu for the holidays, be cautious. Buy directly from PopMart. With demand this high, counterfeit Labubus are everywhere. Here are some things collectors and parents can look for to avoid buying a Lafufu instead of the real thing:

Massachusetts' 'Firsts' Other Than Thanksgiving

Massachusetts may be most famous for hosting the first Thanksgiving, but that's not the Bay State's only 'first.' Throughout the early years of America, Massachusetts was the first state to have many things we see everywhere today.
