Fall River Alleged Tire Slasher Arrested
FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Fall River Police have apprehended an alleged serial tire slasher after a two-week search.
Police said that Liduino Tavares, 40, of Fall River was taken into custody Tuesday by members of the Major Crimes Division.
Tavares is charged with 62 counts of malicious damage to a motor vehicle after police allege that on September 18, he slashed the tires on 62 different vehicles in the area of Mulberry Street and Division Street as well as the area of Ridge Street and Cottage Street.
Police used surveillance video to identify Tavares as the suspect, and said he has been allegedly connected to tire slashings in a previous incident as well.
Tavares is expected to be arraigned in court today.
