Fall River Flint Street Fire Displaces Eight

FALL RIVER (WBSM) — A fire on Fall River’s Flint Street caused severe damage to a three-story house and left eight people displaced on Sunday.

According to the Fall River Fire Department, crews received a still-alarm call at approximately 7:30 p.m. on August 27 for a fire located at 321 Flint Street.

Firefighters were then dispatched to the multi-story house, where they found heavy smoke coming from the first floor.

Smoke also was emanating from the second and third floors according to the department.

The department said crews were able to control the fire at approximately 8 p.m.

No injuries were reported, but damage from smoke and fire that emanated from the first floor made the house uninhabitable.

The smoke also caused damage to the second and third floors, according to the fire department.

Six adults and two children were displaced and are receiving aid from the American Red Cross of Massachusetts.

The department said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
