FALL RIVER — Two men have been sent to the hospital after bricks fell from the roof of a building and struck them Tuesday morning.

According to Fall River Police, officers as well as Fall River firefighters responded to the 200 block of South Main Street at around 11:47 a.m. for a reported building collapse.

Police said it was determined that loose bricks had fallen from the roof of the building, striking two pedestrians below. The two men, 34 and 25, were transpired to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.

The 34-year-old man suffered injuries that police said are described as critical but that he is stable at this time. The 25-year-old man is in stable condition.

The incident remains under investigation by Fall River Police, the Fall River Fire Department, OSHA, and the City of Fall River Building Inspector.
