There’s a new coffee stop coming into Fall River and it’s the perfect place to slow-sip while reading a book. In fact, the owners of Archive Book Cafe encourage it.

Fall River natives Brenna and Bryan Custadio recently purchased the former Horvitz and Brilhante office building at 321 North Main Street and have begun the hard work of flipping an office into their dream book cafe.

Brenna just retired from the Coast Guard and is ready for her next adventure as a business owner. After living in Seattle and California for some time, there was no hesitation when this Spanish Revival-style building became available in the lower Highlands area.

“I spent some time living in California and fell in love with the buildings there so when this building popped up, I thought it was a gorgeous and perfect spot for what we wanted to create,” Brenna Custadio said. The goal is simple, a place for people to gather and have great coffee.

As of right now, the plan includes a cafe that serves honey processed coffee from Costa Rica along with pastries and small menu items like breakfast tacos and avocado toast. There will be plenty of used/thrift books available for cafe guests and even a small children’s book area. With more than ample street parking and plenty of tables, you will never feel rushed to get in and out quickly.

You can grab a book and some sun on the patio, enjoy the breeze from their covered deck, or curl up inside the cafe itself.

“We are very excited. We love the city,” Custadio said.

While the duo still have some painting and work to do on the building, they hope to have their grand opening in September, just in time for pumpkin spice season.
