The Greater Fall River Children’s Holiday Parade, one of New England’s largest children’s parades, will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year and organizers are aiming to make it the biggest and best yet.

Hosted by Greater Fall River RE-CREATION, this free community event will take place on Saturday, December 7 beginning at 1 p.m. at Kennedy Park and stretching along a one-mile route through South Main Street.

As one of Fall River’s most beloved holiday traditions, the parade draws between 8,000 and 30,000 spectators, depending on the weather, and is known for its colorful floats, festive music and holiday cheer.

To mark this special anniversary, Greater Fall River RE-CREATION is calling on local businesses, schools and community members to join the festivities. They are actively seeking bands, floats, vehicle displays and marching groups to help make this milestone parade a memorable one.

Participation is open to individuals, businesses and organizations looking to bring holiday spirit to the streets of Fall River and showcase their community pride (and it does not cost a dime).
