Some North Fairhaven residents experienced discolored water or no water at all early Wednesday morning due to a water main break in town.

Water Department officials tell WBSM news the break occured around 3 am on Alden Road, south of Bridge Street. The break was caused by the Boston Hill Water Tower being taken off line for renovation which caused the main to burst.

Most residents had their water service restored within hours as crews are repairing the break. Residents who live near the water tower may experince a slower flow of their water as the tower is being taken off line for renovation.
