FAIRHAVEN (WBSM) — Authorities have now released the name of the suspect in this morning’s stabbing incident in Fairhaven that left a man with life-threatening injuries, calling it a domestic incident.

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced that Keira Colon, 42, has been arrested and charged with one count of assault with intent to murder, and two counts of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury.

She is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, July 2 in New Bedford District Court.

Fairhaven Police Respond to Middle Street Stabbing

Fairhaven Police and EMS were dispatched to the area of 34 Middle Street at about 10:45 a.m. for a report of a man who was stabbed. Police arrived to find a 55-year-old man bleeding from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to an area hospital, and the D.A.’s Office said he is now listed in serious but stable condition.

Quinn said the victim is Colon’s boyfriend, and the two had recently moved into 60 Middle Street in Fairhaven.

Arraignment and Ongoing Investigation

He said the incident remains under investigation by Fairhaven Police, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the D.A.’s Office, and the State Police Crime Lab.

No further information was released.
