Fairhaven Police have arrested three people on drug charges after they allegedly engaged in a drug transaction.

Sergeant Kevin Kobza says detectives observed two people completing a suspected drug transaction Thursday afternoon at the Huttleston Motel on Route 6.

The two then drove their car to fairhaven center where a third person got in the back seat.

When detectives approached the vehicle they witnessed the passenger in the front seat, identified as 21-year-old Swade Stromme, and the man in the back seat, identified as 28-year-old Shawn Weinel, involved a hand to hand drug transaction.

Detectives arrested the two men and the 19-year-old female driver, identified as Shannon Lewis.

Stromme was charged with distribution of heroin, possession with intent to distribute heroin and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Weinel was charged with possession of a class B substance and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Lewis was charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws and knowingly being present where heroin was kept.

All three suspects were arrainged in third district court.
