Fairhaven Orders Turbines Shut Down At Night
Two "historic" votes Monday by the Fairhaven Board of Selectman and the Board of Health concering the town's wind turbines.
Because of a flood of complaints about noise from the turbines, the Board of Health voted to shut down the turbines at night, from 7pm to 7am, effective immediately.
And the Board of Selectmen voted to give the developers, Fairhaven Wind LLC 30 days to correct those noise problems.
Selectman Chairman Charles Murphy tells WBSM News, the turmoil over the wind turbines has gone on long enough....
The votes came at a joint meeting of both boards at the Fairhaven Town Hall with a large number of town residents looking on.
Both votes were met with rousing applause by those opposing the siting of the Fairhaven turbines.
