FAIRHAVEN (WBSM) — Mellisa’s Pet Depot is closing its Fairhaven store next month.

Why the Fairhaven Location is Closing

The store posted to Facebook this afternoon that the Fairhaven location at 8 Sarah’s Way in the CVS plaza will be closing on February 14, 2026 due to the retirement of one of the owners.

“We are closing this location ONLY!” Mellisa’s Pet Depot posted. “Our Dartmouth store will remain open and will honor all gift cards, store credits and frequent buyer programs.”

Discounts and Inventory Clearance

The Fairhaven location has already started discounting its remaining inventory, and all sales at that location are final and cannot be returned or exchanged at either location.

Are Both Locations Up for Sale?

Pet Depot operates franchised locations across the United States and Canada. According to the Pet Depot main website, both the Fairhaven and Dartmouth locations of Mellisa’s Pet Depot are for sale.

History of Mellisa’s Pet Depot

Mellisa and Steven Raposo opened the North Dartmouth location in 2007. The Fairhaven store followed in 2014.
