UPDATE (March 6): The pedestrian, identified as 81-year-old Carolyn Preece of Fairhaven, has died in the hospital

FAIRHAVEN (WBSM) — A pedestrian was transported to the hospital following a motor vehicle crash on Sconticut Neck Road in Fairhaven Tuesday evening.

Police spokesperson Lt. Kevin Kobza told WBSM the initial call came in at 6:24 p.m. on February 28 of a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian crash.

According to a Facebook post from the Fairhaven Firefighters Association, Local 1555, the incident occurred in the area of 100 Sconticut Neck Road.

Kobza said the pedestrian was transported to the hospital but did not provide any information on their condition.

He said the operator of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with authorities, and that Fairhaven Police and Massachusetts State Police reconstruction teams are reconstructing the incident.
