Look for a drop in your electric bill this winter. Eversource has announced that the prices they're paying to power suppliers for electricity has dropped by 28% in recent months.

Spokesman Mike Durand says that's going to mean significant savings on electricity, compared to last winter's average bill. "The average last winter was about $125, but starting on January 1st, it will be about $104 for customers so its a significant savings and its all due to the price of electricity coming down."

But Durand says lower electric prices are never a guarantee, especially with ongoing constraints on natural gas supplies that effect the price of power.

"We're glad that we can pass along a price decrease for our customers, but we do expected that until that capacity situation is resolved, we're going to continue to see fluctuations in the price of electricity," said Durand.

Durand says you should notice the savings on your electricity bill, starting in January.
