Epic Indoor Challenge Courses Coming to Providence Place Mall
Move over, Dave and Buster's, a new kind of game room is opening soon at Providence Place.
If you have ever trekked up to Natick Mall to eat, drink and play at Level99, you are in luck. The challenge room venue is expanding with an all-new location inside the massive Providence mall.
Clearly, this place needs space for all the unique challenges that can only be described as part American Ninja Warrior, part The Floor is Lava and part classic escape room, and space is just what Level99 is taking.
Level99 President & CEO Matthew DuPlessie tells us that construction will begin in April on the new venue going into the old JC Penney location. However, the company must mean the top level of this former location since the bottom two levels were converted into additional parking nearly five years ago.
DuPlessie added that Level99's second location "will feature some of our players’ favorite games, as well as dozens of new challenge rooms, arena contests and local artwork unique to Providence." The expectation is that it will open later this year, most likely mid-fall.
Even if you aren't into the challenges, the food and drinks served will be reason enough to visit since they are going to be provided by the local crafters at Night Shift Brewing.
It sounds like a dream team of good times and we can't wait for them to arrive at Providence Place later this year.
Also joining the mall later this year is beloved Brazilian Steakhouse chain Fogo de Chao. Several new stores including Cotton on Kids and JD Sports have opened in recent weeks.
This is all great news for the struggling mall that has been contemplating adding condos inside some empty storefront spaces, though if we get to live that close to epic challenge rooms, we're on board with having living space inside the mall. (Not the illegal artist kind either).
Keep scrolling to take a look inside Level99's Natick location for a sense of what you might experience, but if you'd rather be surprised when you visit the Providence location, stop here. We won't judge.
