Election Commissioner Predicts 30% Voter Turnout in New Bedford Tuesday
Massachusetts voters head to the polls Tuesday to vote in the presidential primary.
New Bedford election officials are busy testing ballot machines and taking absentee votes. Election Commissioner Maria Tomasia says absentee voting will be available until 12pm on Monday, and no later. "The law says it's only up to 12 noon, and everything is time-clocked. We also will be here on Saturday morning for voters who are not going to be able to make it to the polls on Tuesday, they can come in and do an absentee ballot," says Tomasia.
Tomasia says about 400 absentee ballots have already been cast.
She predicts New Bedford will see close to 30% in terms of voter turnout. The polls will be open from 7am to 8pm on Tuesday.
