Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.), still in search of relevance, has decided to punt away a $3,600 donation New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft made to his Senate campaign—six years ago.

Markey, who generally snoozes or goes out of his way not to be noticed between election cycles, announced he would give $3,600 to an anti-trafficking group. Kraft faces two misdemeanor counts of soliciting prostitutes for sex at a Florida massage parlor that authorities claim was involved in sex trafficking, though no such charges have been filed in connection with the case as yet.

In a statement announcing his plans, Markey said, “Sexual exploitation in all of its forms is reprehensible. These allegations are very alarming, and I have confidence that the authorities will be investigating this matter fully to get to the truth.” Guess he told him. Yawn.

Markey is such a toon. Is it no wonder you never see him in the owner's box during Patriots games? Even John Kerry sat in the owner's box.

Kraft has entered a not guilty plea and has not been convicted of anything. Why the rush to judgment? Unless, of course, Markey is looking for a little camera time during an election cycle.

Since emerging from his cocoon, Markey has endorsed the Green New Deal and gave away $3,600 given to him by Bob Kraft. What a mover and shaker. He is unlikely to face any kind of serious competition in next year's re-election bid, so don't worry, he'll return to his comatose state soon enough.
