UPDATE: Lockdown Lifted at Durfee High School After Alarming Snapchat
UPDATE 12:15pm - The lockdown at B.M.C Durfee has been lifted. The school day resumed as scheduled shortly before noon after a search of the school by law enforcement.
The lockdown was prompted by a social media post that purported to show a possible student holding a gun.
Officials say the school was searched and no weapon was found.
Original Story 11:47am - B.M.C Durfee High School in Fall River is in lockdown status after an alarming post through a popular social media app.
School officials tell WBSM News the school is on lockdown this hour.
It's not known if the pictured weapon is an actual firearm or a replica/BB gun.
Fall River Police and school officials are investigating the alleged threat.
